COUNCIL OF MINISTRIES OF BIH ADOPTED IPA 2017 “SUPPOFRT TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA TRANSPORT SECTOR INSTITUTIONAL AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT” PROJECT PROPOSAL

The Project Proposal is worth EUR 36.2 million and will be added to the 2017 Proposal State IPA Programme, to which the European Commission earlier allocated EU 40 million. The Project Proposal covers mainly drafting of a study-documentation for railway and road transport, as well as technical assistance for transport institutions strengthening.
As a result of the 2015-2030 Framework Transport Strategy of BIH, the European commission increased the indicative IPA 2017 amount for BIH for around EUR 20 million. The increase is a practical confirmation of the European Commission’s earlier announcements that BIH may count on higher EU pre-accession assistance amounts if adopted whole-state strategies in infrastructure sectors, such as transport, energy, agriculture and environment are.
The preparation of the Project Proposal was coordinated by the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BIH, with the participation of competent State, Entity and the Brčko District of BIH institutions. As with the rest of the Proposal 2017 State IPA Programme, the European Commission reserves the right of revision of the Project Proposal in the transport sector in view of the proposed interventions and amounts.
