Zvizdić - Chakrabarti: All Are Invited To Be a Part of Economic Recovery of BIH

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić met in Vienna with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), led by its President Suma Chakrabarti. 

Chairman Zvizdić thanked for EBDR support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and pointed out that this institution is the most important institutional investor in reconstruction and development efforts in BIH. He expressed his support to future EBRD activities, and informed President Chakrabarti of the current political and economic develo0pemnts in the country, mentioning the Council of Ministers priorities. He invited the EBRD to be a part of economic recovery of BIH.

The meeting discussed modalities of infrastructure projects, and proposed several areas where the EBRD might act as a partner. They mentioned the areas relevant for the economic development of BIH and the whole region, such and energy, tourism, road infrastructure, agriculture, private sector etc.

In order to promote economic entrepreneurship in BIH. Chairman Zvzdić proposed the EBRD to be a key partner in setting-up a SMEs Assistance Fund, and President Chakrabarti said that he fully supports the idea, which he is ready to further consider.

President Chakrabarti invited Chairman Zvizdić at a conference in London, in February next year, and Chairman Zvizdić proposed Sarajevo as the venue of the next EBRD meeting in 2017.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH Mirko Šarović and Minister of Transport and Communications of BIH Slavko Matanović.
