B-H Delegation at Regional Ministerial Conference



A Regional Ministerial Conference on Interior and Justice, attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Security of B-H Sadik Ahmetović, starts in Belgrade, on October 4. The B-H Delegation is comprised of Deputy Minister of Justice Srđan Arnaut, Prosecutor in the B-H Prosecutorial Office Special Division for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption Sena Uzunović, Head of the B-H Border Police Vinko Dumančić, Head of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs Dragan Mektić, and Secretary in the Ministry of Security Bakir Dautbašić.

The theme of the Conference is strengthening of the regional and transnational cooperation as a precondition for a successful fight against organised crime in SEE region.

The Ministerial Conference was opened by President of Serbia Boris Tadić, who said that the organised crime is a plague faced by many countries in the world and that the effective combat against such form of crime is possible only though cooperation of all counties of the region.

Minister Ahmetović, Bulgarian Minister of Interior Cvetan Cvetanov, Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Interior Tatjana Vučetić, Minister of Interior of Macedonia Gordana Jankulosta, and Minister of Interior and Public Administration of Montenegro Ivan Brajović are all due to address the Conference on the main topic “Individual Experiences and Strengthening of Cooperation in SEE in Fight against Organised Crime”.

Minister Ahmetović expressed readiness of Bosnia and Herzegovina to get actively involved in the process of creation of a regional centre for fight against organised crime, which is in an intensive phase of preparation by Serbia and Croatia.

“I believe that such centre will contribute to a more effective regional cooperation with a view to having the security of our citizens further strengthened, which is also an important element of the European Integrations process”, said Minister Ahmetović. (end)
