Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H Dr Nikola Špirić received a delegation from the EU DG for Enlargement, led by Deputy Director General Stefano Sanino.

At the meeting, they discussed the European Integrations process and reforms in B-H to be implemented in the process.

Chairman Špirić informed the delegation of the on-going preparation of a report on Implementation of Transitional Agreement, i.e. Stabilisation and Accession Agreement, including a Semi-annual Review of Activities under the Action Plan of the European Partnership with B-H. Špirić said that from the aspect of trade liberalisation, the SAA is implemented consistently, unlike the Agreement, which requires a political engagement.

The Chairman of The Council of Ministers of B-H said that Temporary Sub-Committees for Stabilisation and Accession started their third round of meetings.

Chairman Špiić nad Deputy Director General Sanino discussed a need for enactment of the Law on Census in B-H, in addition to the implementation of the European Court for Human Rights in Strasbourg award in case “Sejdić and Finci v. B-H”.

Chairman Špirić said that the Council of Ministers had had a serious plan and had intended to implement the award until the general elections held last October, but that the Work Group had lacked a political will for that assignment.

Chairman Špirić reminded that despite the consensus reached within the Work Group for Development of the Law on Census and endorsement by the Council of Ministers, it was not supported by the Parliamentarian Assembly of B-H. He underlined that the census is necessary for it would provide data B-H needs in the next phase of the EU Integrations process.

As for the Law on State Aid, Chairman Špirić informed the delegation that reaching a compromise solution, in line with European standards, is in the process.

It was underlined that standards achieved in certain areas, which bought about the visa regime liberalisation, need to be maintained.

On the internal situation in B-H, Chairman Špirić informed the delegation of his view of the process of establishment of government in B-H.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H said that over the past four years he had been constantly warning of a necessity of a constant internal dialogue, as a sole formula for a success of the country. He assessed that it would be necessary to change the role the International community has in B-H, creating a political parasitism in an environment of the absence of a real democratic ambience. (end)
