BIH Indirect Taxation Authority Steering Board Chairman Meets with BIH Judicial Institutions’ Represetnatives



Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić, held a meeting, in his capacity of Chairman of the Steering Board of the Indirect Taxation Administration, with top officials of judicial institutions in BIH, in an effort to find a more effective solution to the issue of processing of tax evasion cases.

Minister Špirić said that the meeting followed July 9 thematic session of the ITA Steering Board, which considered information on VAT collection, when it was concluded that a solution needs to be found for uncollected revenues, for which hundreds of criminal  charges were filled, but which remained unprocessed for years.

The meeting with the Chairman of the ITA Steering Board was attended by President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council Milorad Novković, Deputy President of the Court of BIH Tihomir Lukes, Acting Head of Department 3 of BIH Prosecutor’s Office Miroslav Marković, and Head of the ITA Steering Board Miro Džakula.

The meeting concluded that the cooperation between the ITA and BIH Prosecutor’s Office needs to unfold on a daily basis, as this way would held best document the filled charges for tax and customs evasions, and an inquiry launched on why some criminal charges have not been processed for years.
