Chairman Bevanda Sends Message of Congratulations to Benedict XVI

Greetings

03/08/2013

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda sent today a message of congratulations to Pope Benedict XVI, on the occasion of termination of his papal service and successful eight-year long pontificate.

“Holy Father, on the occasion of the end of your papal service, it gives me a special honour to extend to Your Holiness congratulations for a successful eight-year long pontificate, which will continue to be the spring of inspiration for peoples and believers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an example of courage, holiness and humbleness in these turbulent times.

Your words, thoughts, and messages you have been sending during the time of your pontificate to leaders and peoples and to an ordinary man in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been and will remain a light and guidance on the path of often difficult decision-making, and which the state function often entails.

Your principled support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, to co-existence and equality of all peoples living in it, and assistance in achieving a mutual confidence will remain as an inspiration to statesmen to remember that other than securing a well-being to their people, they should take an effort to ensure the invaluable gift of peace, justice and truth, and to raze walls, striving to narrow a rift dividing them, by enhancing understanding and forgiveness as the only way to bring a spiritual peace to their own and other peoples.

I am convinced that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is committed to strengthening of bilateral relations with the Holy See, which resulted in signing of the Basic Agreement with the Holy See in the first anniversary of your pontificate, will continue to work with the successor of Your Holiness at St. Peter’s throne and with his closest assistants with equal understanding and mutual respect as it has been the case to date.

On my own behalf, as well as on behalf of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all peoples and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I wish all the best to Your Holiness in your future live, and I wish us to be guided by your patron in the future as before”, reads the message of Chairman Bevanda.
