The Council of Ministers of BIH, at the first part of its 50th session, adopted a Proposal of BIH Institutions for Regular Annual EU Integrations Progress Report on BIH from September 1, 2012 onwards, and tasked the Directorate for European Integrations to translate it and submit it to the European Commission. 

All institutions of BIH are required to provide, as appropriate, updated information on progress achieved to the Directorate for European Integrations, by August 1, 2013, at latest.

The proposal reviews the progress made by BIH in the period of September 1, 2012 to April 4, 3013, concerning meeting with political and economic criteria and European standards. This proposal was developed based on information provided to the Directorate for European Integrations by competent State, Entity and Brčko District institutions, in line with methodology and action plan.

Upon a proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers of BIH defined a Proposal Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Republic of Croatia and Republic of Greece in connection with the support and cooperation within the TAP and IAP projects implementation. The Proposal Memorandum will be sent to the Presidency of BIH, and Deputy Chairman of the the Council of Ministers of BIH and Foreign Ministers prof. dr. Zlatko Lagumdžija is proposed as the BIH signatory.

The purpose of the conclusion of this Memorandum is a promotion of regional cooperation in energy sector, as it is very important for country’s energy safety and diversification of energy supply, including for the economy of the whole region.

The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAŠ) is an energy project aiming the transport of natural gas from the Caspian region to South Italy (and the rest of Europe) through the territory of the Republic of Greece and Republic of Albania. Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Western Balkan region, is to be supplied by natural gas by way of TAP, through planned Ionian-Adriatic pipeline, (IAP), for which a Ministerial Declaration was singed between the republic of Albania Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Republic of Croatia.

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted a report from the Directorate of European Integrations on holding of the fifth meeting of the Transitional Sub-Committee for Transport Energy, Environment and Regional Development, scheduled to take place on May 24 and 25 in Sarajevo.

A consent was granted for the proposed agenda and delegation of BIH at the fifth meeting of the Transitional Sub-Committee for Transport Energy, Environment and Regional Development.

A discussion paper was adopted, to which BIH delegation members owe to adhere to during their presentations at the meeting.

This session of the Council of Ministers will be continued on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
