Council of Ministers Holds Its 60th Session Council of Ministers takes decision to Seek International Assistance in Fire Fighting

The Council of Ministers took unanimous decision yesterday evening to approve a request of the Ministry of Security to seek international assistance, namely for Canadair aircraft to help extinguish fire in the area of Jablanica. 

   The international assistance will be sought through the European Union Monitoring Centre in Brussels (EU MIC), in charge for receipt of requests and provision of assistance.

Canadair aircrafts are expected to be sent from the Republic of Croatia for the reason of proximity, past record of good cooperation and because of a Bilateral Agreement in place between the Council of Ministers and Government of the Republic of Croatia on Cooperation in Protection from Natural and Man Made Disasters.

   The urgent decision was taken by the Council of Ministers in order to assist the population in the area of Jablanica (precisely, area of the Draganjska Mount). (end)
