BIH COMMITTED TO FURTHER ACRIVE PARTICIPATION AT REGIONAL PROCESSES 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted a text answer to a letter from Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn on the degree of realisation of connectedness reform measures and granted its consent to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers to pass it to the European Commissioner.

All responsible institutions of BIH are due to report the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regularly on the progress in the connectedness reform measures implementation.

BIH remains determined for further active part at regional processes, primarily the Berlin Process, i.e. Connectedness Agenda in transport and energy sectors, and economic linking within the Regional Economic Space.

The answer provides a review of the progress achieved in connectedness reform measures in the areas of traffic, energy, and regional economic space, including the finalisation of bilateral treaties for the aim of acceding to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), in addition to investments, labour mobility and digitalisation.

 

BIH TO PREPARE FOR BERLIN PROCESS SUMMIT IN POLAND

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH took a decision, proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on appointing a Coordination Body for coordination and monitoring of all preparations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for participation at the next following Berlin Process of Western Balkans summit to take place in Poznanje, Poland, in July 2019.

The aim is to secure timely, coordinated and effective preparations for participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina delegation at the Berlin Process summit in Poznanje.

 

IMPLEMENTATION OF BIH-SWEDEN AGREEMENT

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH took the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees-proposed decision on appointing a Financial Mechanism Managing Board for Gender Action Plan Implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIGAP II Programme Managing Board)

The setting-up of the Managing Board  was provided under a Special Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, represented by the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, and Kingdom of Sweden, represented by the International Development Agency for Cooperation (SIDA).

 

PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS FROM KOSOVO VISIT BIH

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH took a decision, proposed by the Ministry of Security, to approve an organised entry and stay in BIH, under special conditions, of citizens of the Republic of Serbia, primary schools pupils from Kosovo, in time between June 16 and 23, 2019.

This way, the Council of Ministers of BIH answered to a request by the “Kosovo and Metohija Relief Committee”, a Banja Luka-based humanitarian association, for assistance in realisation of a visit by 899 pupils to local communities in BIH.

It s a group of 10-15 year aged pupils without valid travel documents who could not get Serbia’s passports because of financial reasons.

 

IMPLEMENTATION OF BIH PRESIDENCY CONCLUSIONS ON MIGRANT SITUATION

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH was informed of the realisation of both the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina conclusion No. 01-50-1-1421-59/19 of April 17, 2019 and conclusion of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina No. 05-07-1-1008-4/19 of May 14, 2019 concerning the migrant situation.

The Ministry of Security of BIH was tasked to continue the realisation of the conclusion and report to the Council of Ministers of BIH accordingly at the next following session.

 

CONTINUATION OF PREPARATIONS FOR BIH PARTICIPATION AT EXPO DUBAI

 

Bosnia and Herzegovina continued the preparations for participation at the World Exhibition EXPO 2020 in Dubai, where it will present its potentials within a sub-theme “Opportunity”, with a focus at education, employment, new industries and financial capital.

For the date of holding of Bosnia and Herzegovina Day at the World Expo Dubai proposed were December 11, 2020, December 18, 2020, and January 25, 2021.

His world exhibition will he held from October 20, 2020 to April 10 2021 under the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

The EXPO 2020 Dubai opens potential possibilities of access to markets of total 3.2 billion consumers, and it is one of the major global events in area of economy and culture, where about 200 countries are expected to be represented.
