HIGH QUALITY WATER SUPPLY FOR 250,000 CITIZENS IN CENTRAL BOSNIA 

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined a Proposal Loan Contract (Blue Water Regional Water Pipeline Project) between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, worth EUR 11 million.

The Project will secure a long-term, continuous and high quality water supply for about 25,000 citizens and companies in Travnik, Zenica, Novi Travnik, Vitez and Busovača.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development issues a loan to Bosnia and Herzegovina in amount of EUR 11 million, with 15 year term, including three year grace period, and favourable EURIBOR interest rate, with allocation to the Federation of BIH.

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury will provide the Proposal Contract with Basics for its conclusion to the BIH Presidency for furthers procedure, and the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH was proposed as the BIH signatory.

 

SIX YEARS LATER: JOINT COMMITTEE OF HIGH RERPESENTATIVES OF SIX EX-SFRY SUCCESSORS TO MEET IN SARAJEVO

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted Information of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury on activities on implementation of an Agreement on Succession Issues, which information indicates the determination of Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement the Agreement fully and as soon as possible.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the host of the meeting of the Standing Joint Committee of High Representatives of Ex-SFRY Successors, to be held on November 11 this year in Sarajevo. BIH will be represented by BIH representative in the Standing Joint Committee of High Representatives of Ex-SFRY Successors Vjekoslav Bevanda, Minister of Finance and Treasury.

Ahead of the meeting, the Council of Ministers of BIH will review comprehensive information on the Agreement on Succession Issues implementation activities to be tabled by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.

The Agreement implementation will ensure to Bosnia and Herzegovina money distributed from the common assets of the ex-SFRY, as well as the real estate belonging to BIH, pursuant to some annexes to the Agreement (diplomatic-consular offices and real estate in other ex-SFRY republics).

 

CoM STARTS PRPARATION OF APPLICATION FOR EU MEMBERSHIP

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH took note of a conclusion of the BIH Presidency concerning preparations of a report on readiness for to submit an application for EU membership.

Offices of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH, in cooperation with the Directorate for European Integrations, will prepare the report for the next session of the Council of Ministers, to be held next week.

 

BIH AND SLOVENIA INTENSIFY THEIR ECONOMIC AND TRADE COOPERATION

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH tasked the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH to provide to the BIH Presidency for approval a proposal for conclusion of a Joint Declaration between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Government of the Republic of Slovenia on Economic Cooperation at Third Markets, and designated the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relation as the BIH signatory.

This way the two states want to intensify their economic and trade cooperation, especially at the third marks, with a view at increased competitiveness and FDIs, which would promote employment, economic outlook and political stability in the region.

In lien with the Joint Declaration, the two states will promote a closer cooperation of entrepreneurs and business association, and will work together on identification of possibilities for cooperation at the third markets, in addition to improving their joint activities in industry and tourism.

 

TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO MARKETS OF BIH AND MONTENEGRO

 

The Council of Ministers od BIH adopted Information of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations on conclusion of a Protocol between the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro on mutual recognition and acceptance of documents issued by accredited laboratories for food and fodder, aiming to cut barriers and improve access to markets of the two countries and for facilitation of bilateral trade.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations is tasked to continue the related activities for facilitation of mutual trade and signing the Protocol on mutual recognition and acceptance of documents issued by accredited laboratories for food and fodder between the two countries’ line Ministries.

 

ACTION PLAN FOR ENHANCEMENT OF COMPETITIVENESS AND INVESTMENTS ATTRACTION IN AGRICULUTRE

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted Information of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations on development of an action plan for enhancement of competitiveness and investments attraction for selected sub-sectors of value chains in agriculture, which should be completed by the end of this year.

The action plan development for increasing of competitiveness and investments attraction in value chains of fruit, vegetables, milk and dairy products and meat and meat products in Bosnia and Herzegovina, meant to streamline the course of implementation of Entity strategies and concrete practice on their implementation, was planned as a sequel of the World Bank Group project (IFC). The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH pointed at the importance of continued technical support within the new regional IFC project. With increased competitiveness of BIH  agriculture and technical support to implementation of the road Map for creation of conditions for export of products of animal and herbal origin to the EU market, this project should include also the infrastructure development, needed for export of agricultural products to the European market.

 

INFORMATION ON ISSUES IN BHRT OPERATION ADOPTED

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted Information on issues in operation of the Public Broadcasting Service of BIH – BHRT.

The Ministry of Communications and Transport is tasked to propose, in cooperation with the BHRT management, a possible solution for the settlement of debt towards the European Radio-Broadcasting Union, including the debt rescheduling.

The Information lists the key issues concerning the collection and distribution of subscription fees, including factors affecting the BIH marketing market and distribution of marketing earned funds and the establishment of a corporation.

According to Information, the total receivables and liabilities of BHRT as at December 31, 2014 were KM 22,759,238.00, and total liabilities and other obligations were KM 24,128,634, however the major portion of its liabilities is due to the European Radio-Broadcasting Union, in amount of KM 6, 554,831.00.

 

 

ADMISSION TO CITIZENSHIP DUE TO CONTRIBUTION TO ECONOMY AND SPORTS

 

Upon a proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Council of Ministers of BIH took separate decisions on admission to citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina of the Turkish citizen Mustafa Yavus, economist and owner of two companies based in Srebrenik, due to his contribution to BIH economy and  of US citizen Lynette Janae Kizer, prospective BIH basketball selection member, due to her contribution to BIH sports.

 

CONSENT TO VOTE TO CITIZENS OF CROATIA

 

The Council of Ministers d BIH granted tis consent for vote by citizens of the Republic of Croatia at the up-coming elections for Croatian Parliament, on November 7-8, 2015. Citizens of Croatia may vote at 25 puling stations in diplomatic-consular offices of the Republic of Croatia in BIH territory also out site the premises of the Croatian Embassy in Sarajevo and General Consular Office in Mostar, in time between 7.00 to 19.00 hrs.
