Daćić and Radončić Sign Agreement

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić and Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fahrudin Radončić signed in Belgrade an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Handing Over and Admission of Persons Whose Entry or Stay Is Illegal, including its Implementation Protocol.
The conclusion of the Agreement and its Implementation Protocol is a confirmation by the two counties of their readiness to get included into international activities at prevention of illegal migration, as these documents regulate the issue of admission of own citizens, third countries’ citizens and stateless persons staying in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia in contravention to the respective domestic laws.
Minister Radončić said that signing of the Agreement is the best indicator that the two countries do not have outstanding issues between them in the security sector, and that the application of the Agreement ensures establishment of shortened procedures in the area of readmission, which represents the achievement of highest European standards.
Singing the Agreement in Belgrade, Bosnia and Herzegovina ensures signing of similar bilateral agreements with all surrounding countries.
Prime Minister Dačić said that the signed Agreement testifies of traditionally good cooperation between Belgrade and Sarajevo in all business within the competence of the Ministry of Interior, this was confirmed at a tete-a-tete meeting of Prime Minister Dačić and Minister Radončić before the signing of the Agreement, as well as at a meeting of Bosnai and Herzegovina’s and Serbia delegations.
The cooperation of the two countries in the area of security is assessed as very successful one, especially in terms of combat against organised crime, terrorism and human trafficking.
