Defence Minister Helez Receives Roma-Based NATO College Delegation

Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez received in an official call NATO Defence College (NDC) Delegation from Rome, led by College Commander General-Colonel Max Nielsen.

Tez NDC is a high academic institution of NATO Alliance which assists, through various education and research programmes, development of cohesion and effectiveness of NATO Alliance on various issues of Trans-Atlantic security, in addition to preparation of officials of defence systems of alliance and partner counties for future managerial positions. The relevant course attendants and NDC staff, them about 50, were on a study trip on March 14-16 throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina to get acquainted with political and social aspects, and defence system of BIH.

At the meeting with General Nielsen, Minister Helez emphasised the importance of NATO and EUFOR for peace and stability of BIH mad the whole region, pointing the importance also oof as fast as possible progress of our country along the Euro-Atlantic integrations.

“Your visit takes place in a very important moment for BIH and is among the most important in our recent history, when doors are finally open for negotiations for a full membership in the EU”, Minister Zukan Helez said.

The meeting, held in the Ministry of Defence of BIH, was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of BIH for Resources, Brigadier-General Mirsad Ahmić, along with heads of Offices of Minister of Defence and Deputy Minister for Policy and Plans, and was preceded by an informative briefing in the House of Armed Forces of BIH in Sarajevo, led by Deputy Minister for Defence for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović, who informed the guests from NDC  of the general activities of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Fores of BIH, especially those pertaining to interoperability of the Armed Forces and cooperation with NATO Structures. (end)
