Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Damir Hadžić and Ambassador of Hungary in Bosnia and Herzegovina József Pandur talked in Sarajevo on modalities of improvement of bilateral cooperation.

They concluded that the political relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary are good and without outstanding issued, but that there are potentials for improvement of other forms of cooperation.

Minister Hadžić pointed out that one among priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to take over a full control over its skies, and expressed his expectation that this might take place by the beginning of the next year. He added that the Ministry of Communication and Transport is focused on reaching agreement with six countries, among them Hungary, as well, concerning the implementation of the project of a joint control of air space over the countries of the region (Functional Air Blocks Project).

Ambassador Pandur expressed readiness of Hungarian businessmen for investments to BIH, especially in the area of cable infrastructure, which was welcomed by Minister Hadžić, who said that the Ministry of Communications and Transport is open for new and beneficial investments for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They exchanged opinion on possibilities of a more significant entry of “low cost” air companies to BIH. Hadžić said that the Ministry works intensively in this area in order to make Bosnia and Herzegovina competitive with price, as ‘cheaper’ air companies’ interest for flights to BIH is evident.

Ambassador Pandur expressed readiness of Hungary to offer a full support to our country on its way to the European Union.
