Minister Hadžić in Ankara: Turkey Interested for Active Participation

Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Damir Hadžić met in Ankara with Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim, with whom he discussed the extension of cooperation in construction of the Corridor V introduction of airline route Sarajevo – Ankara, signing of an Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Driver’s Licences between BIH and the Republic Turkey and other issues of mutual importance.
Speaking of the motorway on the Corridor V c, Minister Hadžić turned to an engagement of a Turkish Company Cengiz, which is engaged together with domestic company Euroasfalt Ltd. Sarajevo on the construction of Suhodol-Tačin (5 km) and Lepencia – Suhodol (5.5 km) sections of the motorway. Minister Hadžić said that in 2013, construction of motorway will be intensified, namely seven new construction sites will be opened to employ over 5,000 people. Minister Hadžić referred to new investment possibilities for the Republic Turkey in infrastructural projects in BIH; mentioning that BH is interested in all models of financial investments: public-private partnerships, concessions, cooperation with Turkish Exim Bank. Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim confirmed the interest of Turkey for an active participation in construction of the Corridor V c.
Minister Yildrim highlighted the importance of the increase of number of flights on Sarajevo-Istanbul airline route and introduction of a new air route Sarajevo –Ankara. They both concluded that there are no obstacles to an increase of the existing and introduction of new air routes between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey.
