Minister Hadžić in Odžak: Contract Signed on Construction of Another Corridor V c Section - New Jobs for BIH Companies



Minister of Transport and Communications of BIH Damir Hadžić visited  Odžak where he attended a ceremony of singing of a Contract on Construction of Corridor V c Section “Svilaj - Odžak” of total 11 kilometres length.

The Contact was signed by Director of the Public Company Motorways Mostar Ensad Karić, Manager of Starbag AG Austria Josip Kuzmanović, Minister of Transport and Communications of FBIH Enver Bijelić , in his capacity of a co-signatory, and Manager of the Euro-Asfalt Ltd Sarajevo Hamed Rahmić, on behalf of BIH companies which are the developers.

“Our permanent aim is to boost the construction, develop economy and improve living standard of ordinary man. We can proudly say today that, despite numerous obstacles, we made our way, as it is evident that construction sites in operation from furthest north to furthest south of our country. The signing of this Contract means that soon after the  beginning of construction of the this section, we will accelerate the construction of a bridge on the River Sava near Svilaj, by which completion Bosnia and Herzegovina will get the most important, northern, infrastructural connection to the EU. Today’s Contract is a proof of our commitment to have constructed over 100 km of functional motorway by the end of year 2014”, Minister Hadžić said.

With the construction on this section starting, it will be the eight construction site on the Corridor V and first in north BIH in operation. Important facilities to be constructed under the contract are two loops in Svilaj and Odžak, three bridges, one rest area, and three overpasses. During the expropriation process, over KM 8 million has been invested to this area

Other than envisioned EUR 61 million for the construction of 11 km long motorway, the Contract sets forth a EUR 11 million investment for the construction of Svilaj international border crossing, in the same way as Bijača international border crossing on south, in addition to mentioned two loops in Svijal and Odžak, while local communities will get 6 km of new access roads and local roads. The works will include 300 workers and 300 of machines.

Conclusive with the signing of the Contract, a total investment to the Corridor V c in the FBIH will amount to KM 1 billion.
