Minister Hadžić Talks with Jarzembowski

Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Damir Hadžić received in Sarajevo today European Coordinator for Functional Airspace Blocks System under the European Commission Georg Jarzembowski.
At the meeting, they discussed the taking over of the BIH airspace control by domestic institutions.
Minister Hadžić said that the upprer and middle airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina are controlled by Serbia and Croatia, while BIH agencies control only airport frequencies.
He announced a probation test of BIH airspace control, to be conducted together with European Organisation for Safety of Air Navigation EUROCONTROL, in time between May 7 and 10 this year.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is technically prepared to take over control over its skies. By the end of this year, we are to take control over the lower layer, while the deadline for taking over a complete control of the BIH airspace is April 15, 32013, said Minister Hadžić, adding that BIH is ready for the Single European Sky.
He expressed his conviction that an agreement on opening of “Functional Airspace Blocks in Central Europe” (FAB CE), currently in the ratification phase before parliaments of seven member countries, will be operative by the end of this year.
As to the regional cooperation, Minister Hadžić expressed readiness to send an invitation to Serbia to join the FAB CE.
The interlocutors concluded that all FEB CE members have to take decision on air navigation service providers.
