Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of BIH Damir Ljubić received in Sarajevo today Ambassador of the FR Germany in BIH Urlike Knotz, with whom he talked on activities and priorities of the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees for the period to come.
Ambassador Knotz congratulated to Minister Ljubić for his appointment, wishing him success in on his duty.
Thanking for congratulations, Minister Ljubić informed Ambassador Knotz on preparations for the up-coming regional donor conference on return of refugees and displaced persons in the region, to be held in Sarajevo, on April 24. Minister Ljubiić said that the aim of the conference is a regional solving of issues of refugees and displaced persons though cooperation of four countries, namely Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, and with support of the international community.
“A regional plan for return was endorsed by the international community, and since there is a huge interest of potential donors for participation at the conference, we do expect a strong support to this regional approach to solving of the issue of return of refugees and displaced persons”, Minister Ljubić said.
Minister Ljubić stressed that the issue of return and accommodation of refugees and displaced persons is still among top priorities of the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees, while, at the same time, the Ministry is active in development of legal regulations in the area of human rights and tis harmonisation to relevant EU Directives.
