Minister Špirić Receives Ambassador of Spain in BIH

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dr Nikola Špirić received in Sarajevo today newly-appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in BIH Maria Aurora Mejia Errasqin.

At the meeting they pointed at very good bilateral cooperation between BIH and Spain, adding that the traditionally friendly relations of the two countries represent a good foundation for strengthening of economic cooperation.

Ambassador Errasqin underlined the on-going activities on creation of conditions for a direct cooperation, as a delegation of Spanish businessmen, organised by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, will visit BIH in the second half of this month, which represents an excellent opportunity for launching new projects.

Minister Špirić assessed that the meetings of business people is important contribution to strengthening of economic cooperation, and noted that a series of inter-governmental treaties between BIH and Spain are in place to support such cooperation.

The Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH expressed his expectations that the 2012 Budget will be at the agenda of the first next session, of May 10, of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH, reminding that this year’s Budget calls for a reduction of public spending. He added that the financing of local elections and all EU integrations relevant projects are included into the 2012 Budget.

Ambassador Errasqin assessed that almost all EU countries, including Spain, face public spending cuts, as it is one of the ways to prevent further adverse consequences of the economic crisis.
