Minister Vrankić Receives Hungarian Ambassador in BIH Josef Pandur

Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury Dragan Vrankić received today newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary in BIH Josef Pandur in an introductory visit.

Interlocutors concluded that there are no outstanding issues between the two countries, mentioning that there is still a lot of space for strengthening and enhancing cooperation in all areas, especially the economic one.

Views were exchanged on the effects the global economic crisis and European developments makes to this region, and to Hungary and BIH specifically, especially in view of the coming year.

With the outside crisis reflecting to BIH economy, already burdened by poor internal business climate, the interlocutors agreed that improvement of country’s external image is necessary, taking regard of much needed investment, the beginnings of which improvement should be demonstrated in removal of bureaucratic barriers that are cause to administrative slowness in business registration process. Such development, stated Ambassador Pandur, would mean a good news for all potential investors in BIH, particularly Hungarian investors interested for joint projects.

The interlocutors also discussed the current political situation in BIH, namely formation of the Council of Ministers of BIH, still pending adoption of BIH Institutions Budget for this and next year, and current funding under the temporary financing arrangement.

A long-term stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in political, economic and security terms, is extremely important for Hungary, and it is not only for the reason of its physical proximity, and, as a EU member, Hungary will continue providing a full support to on its Euro-Atlantic way, also through offering its own experiences.
