Preliminary Results of 2013 Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in Bosnia and Herzegovina Made Public

Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Damir Hadžić, Director of the Agency of Statistics of BIH Zdenko Milanović and Directors of Entity Statistic Institutes Hidajeta Bajramović and Radmila Čičković held a press conference in Sarajevo, where they made public preliminary results of 2013 Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to the preliminary results, total 3,791,622 persons were enumerated in Bosnia and Herzegovina, out of which 2,371,603 in the Federation of BIH; 1,326,991 in Republika Srpska, and 93,028 persons in the Brčko District.

As the preliminary results show, total 1,163,387 households were enumerated in Bosnia and Herzegovina, out of which 721,199 in the Federation of BIH; 414,847 in Republika Srpska; and 27,341 in the Brčko District. The average household in Bosnia and Herzegovina has 3.26 members; in the Federation of BIH it is 3.29 members; in Republika Srpska 3.20 members and in the Brčko District it is 3.40 members.

According to the preliminary results, total enumerated dwellings in Bosnia and Herzegovina re 1,617,308, out of which 991,384 in the Federation of BIH; 588,241 in Republika Srpska, and 37,683 in the Brčko District.

The census preliminary results are subject to a change in the course of statistical data processing, and final results would be published successively, following the completion of data processing, in the period of time between July 1, 2014 and July 1, 2016.

The total number of enumerated persons is not the same term as the term of total number of permanently residing population in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be published in the Census final results.
