The Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bariša Čolak signed in Sarajevo an Agreement on Establishment and Status of the European Public Law Organisation between the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina and European Organisation for Public Right (EPLO), in the presence of Ambassador of the Republic of Greece Procopios Mantzouranis and Head of Department of the European Public Law Organisation Vassiliki Likoure.

Following the signing, Minister of Justice of B-H Bariša Čolak and Ambassador of the Republic of Greece Procopios Mantzouranis delivered a speech.

“This is a useful step for gaining from experiences of others, first of it represents a possibility for education of our young staff, but it is certainly a positive breakthrough for Bosnia and Herzegovina. European Public Law Organisation has been already present in Bosnia and Herzegovina for some ten years now, in the Brčko District where the National School for Public Administration has been setup. This Organisation is very important because it is active in promotion and distribution of knowledge on European public law, including comparative public law, human rights protection and natural environment protection laws, and in general it promotes public law as the European heritage throughout the world. The Organisation backs up scientific and education activities concerning institution building and support to democratic institutions in European countries and in the world, and it promotes cooperation with other institutions and bodies, the UN in particular. I think that this event will contribute to the process Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European and Euroatlantic integrations, and this experience from the Brčko District, which rather concerns education and training of public servants and judges in administration competences, supports such conclusion”, Minister Čolak said.

“EPLO will establish an education institution at the university level in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for studies in European public law, political and economic sciences and public administration.  European professors will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina to give lessons, and this will be a kind of a bridge that this country needs for the European integration purposes, and this is one of the most meaningful features of today’s Agreement”, said Ambassador of Greece Mantzouranis.
