Promotion and protection of individual and collective human rights and freedoms
Coordination and preparation of reports for competent domestic authorities and institutions and international institutions and organizations on the implementation of obligations from international conventions and documents
Creation and implementation of activities to fulfill Bosnia and Herzegovina’s obligations regarding Euro-Atlantic integration, particularly the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and its protocols
Monitoring, preparation, and distribution of information on standards, achievements, and activities in the field of human rights
Cooperation with religious communities
Cooperation with national minorities and their associations
Cooperation with institutions and organizations responsible for tracing missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Cooperation with the Red Cross of BiH, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and humanitarian organizations
Management of asylum-related matters and the rights of refugees arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Implementation of Annex VII of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH, including monitoring and supervision of its implementation
Creation and implementation of policies in BiH related to the return of refugees and internally displaced persons, reconstruction projects, and ensuring conditions for sustainable return
Coordination, guidance, and supervision within the Commission for Refugees and Displaced Persons, and activities of the entities and other institutions in BiH responsible for implementing policies in this area
All other activities prescribed by law and/or related to the implementation of Annexes VI and VII of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH
Cooperation with the non-governmental sector on issues within the Ministry’s competence
Development of immigration and asylum policy in BiH
Development of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s policy toward the diaspora
