Bevanda – Abreu: Council of Ministers’ Fiscal Consolidation Measures Receive Support from World Bank

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda and is assistants met in Sarajevo with Head of BIH Office of the World Bank Anabela Abreu, with whom he discussed the current political and economic developments. 

Head of the World Bank Office in BIH Anabela Abreu congratulated to Chairman Bevanda for the adoption of the Global fiscal balance and Policies for 2014-2016 and for implementation of key structural benchmarks and qualitative goals from the IMF Stand-By Arrangement.

Chairman Bevanda stressed that the adoption of the Global Fiscal Balance and Policies document enabled a more favourable ambience for adoption of a Framework Budget, and that all budget users received instructions for development of their respective budget for year 2014. He informed the Head of WB Office in BIH of a note sent to Entity Governments concerning the DPL Programme implementation, which ensures business environment reform in both Entities and for which USD 50 million were secured.

Head of the WB Office Abreu said that fiscal consolidation and structural reform measures implemented by the Council of Ministers receive a full support of the World Bank, and that policy of strengthening of public finances should be continued in future.
