Bevanda – Chakrabarti: EBRD Wants to Assist BIH Recovery

At the end of the Conference “Investing in the Western Balkans”, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda talked in London with EBRD Vice President Suma Chakrabarti, who was interested to learn about political and economic situation in our country. 

They agreed that a special attention should be focused to the economic recovery and increase of growth rate, which would boost country’s recovery though job generation.

The EBRD President stressed that his institution wants to assist in recovery of BIH and expressed his hope that this Conference would bring new investors to BIH. He said that BIH has a new strategy for BIH, which offers a new, strong package of projects for lending to private sector and infrastructural and energy projects.

Chairman Bevanda welcomed the portfolio restructuring for private sector and informed the EBRD President of the Law on Public-Private Partnership, currently in the parliamentarian procedure, and expressed his expectation that it will be adopted, as it represents a general interest for it simplifies the whole investment process.

Chairman Bevanda and President Chakrabarti agreed that BIH should be one of countries of the region  to present its business-investment potentials at the up-coming Conference in Warsaw this May.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BIH Zlatko Lagumdžija.
