Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met today in Bucharest with Prime Minister of Romania, Victor Ponta, host of the Third Economic-Trade Forum of Central and East European Countries (CEEC) and the People’s Republic of China. 

They agreed that the relations between the two counties are good and without outstanding issues. A solid political and legal basis for further development of cooperation is provided by a number of signed agreements relating to the sectors of culture, investments, taxation, combat against terrorism, while the level of foreign trade between the two states has a good basics and approximated parities.

Chairman Bevanda stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is set to work on strengthening of economic and cultural cooperation. He said that BIH is still on its way towards the EU and NATO, and that support from Romania is very important for its Euro-Atlantic aspirations, especially having regard of the representation power of Romania in the European Parliament.

Prime Minister Ponta expressed Romanian support to the Euro-Atlantic integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He stressed that Romania is at disposal to Bosnia and Herzegovina with its own experience of system reforms that are necessary to implement for a full membership in both organisations. He added that for countries of the region the EU and NATO have no alternative in view of stability and future economic development.

“We consider the project of united Europe is not completed yet all until all countries become full members of the EU, and in connection with that you have our full support on your Euro-Atlantic road”, Prime Minister Ponta said.

Chairman Bevanda set an invitation to Prime Minister of Romania to pay soon an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
