Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Chairman bevanda expressed his pleasure for an immeasurable contribution of NATO to stability and peace in BIH and for continuation of capacitating of the Armed Forces of BIH under NATO standards.
Rasmussen thanked for the contribution the Armed Forces of BIH made in the peace keeping mission in Afghanistan. He stressed that he came to encourage BIH politicians to continue reforms and to clarify that the solution to the issue of immovable military property is in its registration as the State property. Emphasising that BIH will have large benefits from NATO and EU membership, Rasmussen mentioned an example of Central and East Euiroepan countries that enjoy security and are attractive to foreign investors. He underlined that the NATO is ready to support related efforts, but said that it is only BIH that can act as the implementer of necessary reforms which would benefit BIH citizens most.
The meeting expressed a hope that political leaders should declare their positions on this issue and upon reaching an agreement, they need to revise the political agreement and separate the military from the State property.
Rasmusssen said that the solution of this issue would be useful for the State, which will enjoy the property it needs and a part of that will be allocated to Entities and municipalities, which will be able to use the property for the interest of citizens. After BIH solves the issue of immovable property and after it is registered as the state property, Rasmussen said that NATO is ready to activate MAP.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of BIH and Chair of the BIH NATO Coordination team Ana Trošić-Babić.
