Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo Head of the European Union Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative Peter Sorensen, who handed over a BIH Progress Report.

Ambassador Sorensen said it is the ninth Progress Report, which describes challenges of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European way. He added that to it contains a number of negative evaluations, and that it notes, however, some positive moves in the areas of judiciary, with some limited progress in reforms, namely: anti-corruption efforts, where a certain progress was evident in curbing-up corruption; and a progress was made in setting-up an hygienic package measures.

Ambassador Sorensen declared a notable progress in economic strengthening and economy revitalisation, underlining that dues for that go to Chairman Bevanda. He said that Chairman Bevanda promoted during his mandate the BIH Budget development and adoption processes and set-up a coordination and reporting process through the BIH Fiscal Council. He said that BIH should in future take an effort to achieve a sizable progress in the FDI attraction area.

Chairman Bevnada said that he cannot comment on the Report, without having read it first,  but he expressed his conviction that, among other things, the establishment of an effective coordination mechanism is extremely important to BIH and that in the coming period of time it will be a zero priority on the European way.

The BIH Progress Report relates to the activities implemented and completed in the period of time between October 2013 and September 2014.
