02/26/2014
Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Head of IMF Mission van Roden shared his views on indicators noted during the mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that there are weaknesses in both Entities and that some of the reforms, unfortunately, were blocked at the very beginning of their implementation. As weak points, among other things, he mantioned the exchange of information between among administrations, harmonisation of excises on tobacco products, slow introduction into the system of farms in RS, Law on Budget of the FBIH, Law on Inspection and other pieces of legislation, which pose a risk to business-making in BIH.
Chairman Bevanda said that BIH is determined to work on all agreed reforms and that improved cooperation of executive and legislative authorities at all levels might brign aboui a series of improved results. He said that many issues may be solved if all in BIH undertake their part of responsibility and if there is sufficient well intention.
he meeting agreed about a necessity to continue implementing structural reforms in future, which should secure the economic recovery of the state at all levels, and demonstrate seriousness and professional approach to creating conditions for the continuation of cooperation with the IMF and, subsequently, World Bank.
The meeting was attended by IMF Resident Representative in BIH Ruben Atoyan.
