Chairman Bevanda in Talks with Minister Rinkevičs

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met in Sarajevo with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Edgar Rinkevičs. 

During the talks both sides noted friendly relations between the two countries without outstanding issues. Chairman Bevanda informed Minister Rinkevičs of the current political situation in BIH and of the process of establishment of new government following the elections autumn last year. They discussed BIH road to the European Union.

Minister Rinkevičs mentioned some Latvian experiences from the process of the Euro-Atlantic integrations, adding that they are ready to assist bilaterally in expertise, obtained from their own experiences. He welcomed the adoption of a Joint Statement by the BIH Presidency and both Chambers of the BIH Parliamentarian Assembly, saying that it represents a very solid road map and strategy for European integrations, the implementation of which will however require a lot of effort and energy.

On establishment of an effective coordination mechanism, they agreed on the importance of speaking with one voice, taking in account a lot of legislative and other documents to be adopted, for which reason an effective coordination mechanism is necessary to establish as soon as possible.
