Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vjekoslav Bevanda received, in Sarajevo today, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in BIH Donatus Köck, with whom he talked on bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting it was highlighted that BIH and Austria are two friendly countries with good economic cooperation, as Austria is one of major investors into BIH. This assessment is supported by a fact that over 130,000 citizens of BIH live and work in Austria, including 2,500 young students from BIH, being well integrated into the Austrian society. Chairman Bevanda and Ambassador Köck agreed that this population may well play a key role in further enhancement of cultural, political and economic cooperation.
Chairman Bevanda informed Ambassador Köck of the priorities he presented in his elaborate before the House of Representatives of the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH. He underlined a determination to fully commit his efforts, during his term, to strengthening of economy, acceleration of moving along the European way, and soon admitting of Bosnia and Herzegovina to a full membership in NATO.
Ambassador Köck expressed a readiness of the Republic of Austria to continue with its support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on tis Euro.-Atlantic way. He said that it is also a precondition for the improvement of economic situation in BIH.
Ambassador Köck congratulated, on behalf of the Republic of Austria, to Chairman Bevanda for his appointment, and wished him success in his future work.
