Chairman Bevanda Talks with Minister Mogherini

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda talked today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy Ferderika Mogherini. 

Chairman Bevanda wished success to Italy in her presiding over the European Union during tis six-month term. He expressed his gratitude for everything the Republic of Italy has done for the people of BIH during the disastrous floods.

They discussed political and economic relations between the two countries, and on that occasion Chairman Bevanda said BIH and the Republic of Italy have a successful economic and trade cooperation , underlining that Italy is one among major export markets.

Minister Mogherini said that in coming days she will visit six Balkan capitals in order to support the countries wishing to join the European Union. She stressed that Italy expects from BIH necessary economic reforms.

Chairman Bevanda and Minister Mogherini shared their views that reforms are necessary for the sake of citizens, not the European Union.

Minister Mogherini expressed her conviction that good cooperation between the two states would continue in future, adding that cooperation in cultural activities is possible to promote, as exemplified by the Ars Aevi artistic project.

They expressed their hope that the positive signals existing in the cooperation between the Republic of Italy and BIH would be transmitted to the European Union, too.
