Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo today a delegation of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, led by Foreign Affairs Committee President Volkan Bozkir.
The Committee President Bozkir congratulated to Chairman Bevanda for his appointment and wished him all success in his work, and conveyed congratulations of the Turkish Prime Minister. He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country of economic and political importance for the Republic of Turkey and that establishing of the new Council of Ministers and new Government in Turkey are important preconditions for having the current bilateral cooperation continued and intensified at all levels.
Thanking for congratulations, Chairman Bevanda said that he appreciates the Republic of Turkey as a friendly country, always supportive of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Referring to good political relations and contacts, Chairman Bevanda said the economic cooperation needs to be intensified. He added that the new Council of Ministers will work towards removal of the existing obstacles, so that BIH would be returned to the focus of interest of Turkish investors, thereby enhancing the extent of Turkish investments to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The interlocutors agreed that an entrepreneurial interest for BIH needs to be incited in Turkey, and concrete goals need to be set-up for an economic partnership of BIH and Turkey. Their joint assessment was that among realistic goals there might be a more balanced exchange of goods and increase of the extent of Turkish investments.
Chairman Bevanda thanked to the guests from Turkey for a continued support the Republic of Turkey extends to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its way to a full membership in NATO.
