Chairman of the Council of Mintisirs of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met in Sarajevo with a Delegation of the International Monetary Fund, led by Head of Mission Ron van Roonden, where they talked on the implementation of relevant programmes and structural reforms under the eight review of the Stand-By Arrangement, to be followed-up by the IMF Board decision on disbursement of KM 133 million ninth tranche. 

Chairman Bevanda thanked to the IMF Mission for its prompt reaction in rehabilitation efforts after floods in BIH.

He informed the IMF Delegation that the Council of Ministers of BIH made amendments and supplements to the Law on Budget of BIH, right away, which enabled KM 10 million, collected through budget savings and employee contribution, to be transferred to Entity Governments. He noted however, his dissatisfaction with the dynamics of the distribution of assistance to affected citizen ns in BIH.

Chairman Bevanda briefed the IMF representatives on the fulfilment of goals from the Platform, enshrined in September 11, 2912 Letter of Intent and additional Letters of Intent, agreed on June 13, 2014.

Head of Mission of IMF Van Rooden expressed his pleasure with cooperation,  and extended congratulations for the professional attitude towards the existing liabilities, especially in view of the catastrophic floods.

He said that there are some signed of economic recovery, and added that tax revenue collection increased, as did the share of industrial production, based on which a positive economic growth is possible to expect this year.

The meeting agreed that structural reforms need to continue in future to include realisation of fiscal goals.

The meeting was attended by the IMF resident representative in BIH Roben Aroyan.
