Chairman Bevanda talked with the EU officials on the European perspective of BIH and on activities of BIH institutions on the way to the EU.
In his press statement following the meeting with van Rompuy, Chairman Bevanda said that they did not discuss policy but sheer reality in respect to fulfilment of goals and conditions on the way of the EU integrations of BIH.
“I hope that by an insight into concrete results we have achieved in this one month time, we offered sufficient guarantee of a complete change of the way of work, and that in cooperation with EU representatives in Sarajevo, we will complete the remaining part of tasks and meet conditions for application”, the Chairman of the BIH Council of Ministers stated.
President of the European Council Van Rompuy welcomed the establishment of the new Council of Ministers of BIH, which he said demonstrates that political leaders in BIH can overcome differences and develop a joint vision of a stable, prosperous and democratic future for their country.
He expressed his expectations that the new authorities will start many reforms in BIH and will achieve a continuous progress towards the European integrations. The President of the European Council confirmed that the EU remains committed to the European perspective of BIH and the Western Balkans. He added that the EU will offer all needed assistance in BIH’s integration process, both from Brussels, and on the grounds, through a strengthened presence in BIH.
Following his meeting with the Commissioner Füle, Chairman Bevanda said that all problematic issues from the Road Map in the EU integrations process of BIH were discussed , highlighting a necessity of fulfilment of all conditions set before BIH on its road to the EU.
Commissioner Füle welcomed recently adopted laws important for BIH’s integration into the EU, and expressed his hope that year 2012 will bring good news to BIH. He encouraged BIH in undertaking key reforms, stressing a need for making a credible effort in the implementation of Sejdić-Finci ECHR Award, including the adoption of the 2012 Budget and agreement on the 2012-2014 Global Fiscal Framework. Commissioner Füle stressed a necessity of the continuation of the structured dialogue on Judiciary.
