Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo today Chief of Mission of OSCE in BIH Ambassador Fletcher M. Burton, in his introductory visit.
Chairman Bevanda thanked to OSCE contribution made to date in efforts towards development of peace, democracy and BIH institutions, as a prerequisite for successful regional cooperation and economic progress of our country. Underlining that the priorities of the Council of Ministers of BIH are Euro-Atlantic way of BIH and economic development, Chairman Bevanda expressed his expectations that the OSCE will offer all needed advisory support to BIH institutions on that way.
Ambassador Burton congratulated to Chairman Bevanda on his appointment and said that the OSCE Mission will continue supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina in fulfilment of tis obligations stemming from its membership in the OSCE by way of cooperation with the Council of Ministers, in order to achieve desired progress towards Euro-Atlantic integrations. He said that BIH has a new government with a new energy and clear Euro-Atlantic aspirations, and that the OSCE Mission in BIH is ready to endorse these priorities, though which BIH adopts the same democratic values and standards as enjoyed by the OSCE.
They agreed that a close and open cooperation between BIH institutions and the OSCE Mission is necessary as to expedite Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progressing on Euro-Atlantic integrations, which is a transparent cooperation based on pa partnership in which OSCE is to extend needed advisory support to institutions of BIH on its their way towards the EU and NATO.
They also discussed the up.-coming visit of OSCE Secretary General Lambert Zannieri to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
