Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo today a delegation of the United States of America, led by Deputy U.S: Secretary of State William Burns. 

Chairman Bevanda thanked for congratulations and extended support of Secretary of State of the USA Hillary R. Clinton, and informed Deputy Secretary of State Burns on the priorities of the new Council of Ministers of BIH. He pointed out that priorities are the European integrations, economic development and early admittance into NATO membership.

Deputy Secretary of State Burns expressed the support of the United States of America to priorities of Chairman Bevanda, stressing the importance of his pragmatic and practical approach to the removal of obstacles on the road to a full-fledged membership in both NATO and EU. He expressed a pleasure with the cooperation between BIH and the USA to date, noting the engagement of BIH as the non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and participation of BIH Armed forces in international peace keeping missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Chairman Bevanda expressed his expectations that the cooperation will be continued in the period to come.

Deputy Secretary of State Burns stated the readiness of the USA to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina in tis Euro-Atlantic integration efforts, including a more immediate removal of damages caused by weather conditions.

Chairman Bevanda thanked for the overall support of the USA, stressing that the United States of America are a proven and sincere friend to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that any assistance will be welcome.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the USA in BIH Patrick S. Moon.
