Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H dr. Nikola Špirić received in Banja Luka today a delegation of the World Bank, headed by World bank Country Director and SEE, Europe and Central Asia Regional Coordinator Jane Armitage. 

The meeting discussed the on-going and future World Bank programmes and B-H Partnership Strategy for next four years, with a special focus on irrigation projects, navigability of the Sara River, and Budget support.

They assessed jointly that the implementation of the on-going World Bank projects in B-H is smooth and that such good rate of loan placement and effectiveness should be maintained.

Chairman Špirić expressed his satisfaction for the World Bank funds will be granted to B-H on IDA terms over the next three years.

On a World Bankl Resolution on Capital Increase, Chairman Špirić informed the World Bank Director Armitage that at its last session of March 31, the Council of Ministers of B-H adopted a Decision on Capital Increase for USD 1,259,420.40, thereby increasing B-H participation in decision-making in the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The World Bank Delegation was also interested in possibilities for establishment of Government, taking regard of the new cooperation strategy of this financial institution and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chairman Špirić informed the World Bank representatives of his views of the situation in B-H.
