Chairman Zvizdić and Prime Minister Davutoglu Opened Ask-i Nebi Exhibition in Istanbul

During the touring the old part of Istanbul, the Prime Ministers visited Sultan Ahmet (Blue) mosque. Chairman Zvizdić and Prime Minister Davutoglu them walked the Sultan Mehmet Square where they greeted gathered citizens, and then, together with President of the Administration for Religious Issues of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Gormez, went to Hagia Sofia to open the Ask-i Nebi exhibition of Islamic calligraphy, prepared at the exhibition space on the occasion of birthday celebration of Prophet Mohammed s.a.a.w.
At the opening of the exhibition, Chairman Zvizdić said that his is honoured that in such beautiful country and city surrounded by friends he has the opportunity to open an exhibition devoted to Muhammad s.a.a.w. He said that the life and deeds of Muhammad s.a.a.w. may even nowadays serve as an example and moral compass about how to behave towards the others and different ones.
The Ashki Nebi exshibition is composed of levhies made in a special chalcographic technique Hilja and Serif. This technique was used and presented for the first time by a renowned calligrapher Hafiz Osman Effendi in the 17th century whereby in images and calligraphy motifs of Muhammad s.a.a.w. were presented, as well as his spiritual portrait and beauties and values of Islam.
