Chairman Zvizdić at Business Forum Qatar – BIH in Doha

Possibilities for economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the State of Qatar and investment potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented at the Business forum.
In his address at the opening of the Forum, chairman Zvizdić said that the shared interest of both countries is to advance the economic cooperation, especially to improve exchange of goods and increase the number of investments. He presented the business environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country open to business people and investments. He emphasised that investment process has been systematically regulated by the state, which supports foreign investors. He informed the Forum of his yesterday’s meeting Qatari Prime Minister, who supported all the cooperation ideas presented and who will, hopefully, meet BIH businessmen following today’s Forum.
Chairman Zvizdić informed the forum of the economic potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the areas of tourism, energy, wood processing industry, special purpose industry, agriculture and production of health safe and halal food, pharmaceutical industry and infrastructure projects. He added that our country is especially interested for long-term strategic partnerships, which would serve as a wheel for import of new knowledge and technologies, and which would help create new jobs, primarily for young people. He said the Council of Ministers of BIH Delegation came to Qatar to offer concrete projects and to seek partner for its economic development. He sent an invitation to and welcomed Qatari businessmen to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Business Forum was attended by Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH Mirko Šarović, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BIH Igor Crnadak, Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Ismir Jusko, FIPA Director Goran Milinić, President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BIH Ahmet Egrlić, and Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the State of Qatar Tarik Ahmetović.
At the margins of the Business Forum, Chairmn Zvizsdić met with Honorary Secretary and Member of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce Steering Board Ali Bin Abdulateef Al Misnad.
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić talked also with General Manager of the Qatari Fund for Development (QFFD) Khalif Jassim Al-Kuwari on strengthening of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar in the areas of education, health and economic development and on support to your business people from private sector. He said that it is the interest of BIH for this cooperation to result in support to launching start-up companies, with a view to creating jobs for young people.
The QFFD is focused to three important sectors, namely, education, health and economic development, and its efforts include awarding scholarships, guarantees and technical support.
