Chairman Zvizdić in Drač: To Deepen Regional Economic Integrations

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizidć attended today in Drač, Albania, an informal meeting of six Prime ministers of the Western Balkans. 

The meeting discussed the realisation and improvement of implementation of commitments under an Action Plan for deepening economic integrations in the region, which the prime Ministers agreed at het Trieste summit this July. The agreed abut a great relevance for the whole region of the implementation of measured called for under the Action Plan, as the realisation of defined tasks would strengthen economies of the regions’ countries, EU membership candidates. The regional economic space will thus become more attractive to investors, and competition will be ensured at the global market with advanced expert capacities.

The importance of digital transformation was noted of both society and economies of the Western Balkans region, which should benefit from he prospects offered by the digitisation for becoming a more desirable place for business making and new investments, in addition to as better as possible international placement of digitally furbished, capacitated and networked companies of the region. The digital transformation of society was said to be the precondition for expanding an effective public sector and improvement of business making conditions in general, accompanied by improved competition and faster economic development and growth.

The meeting expressed its dedication for further activities on the European integrations road, and remarked to such activities imply strengthening of competitiveness of the Western Balkans.

The participants of today’s Drač meeting announced a conference where serious regional investment projects, interesting for all parties, would be presented.

The aim of today’s informal meeting of the Western Balkans Prime Ministers in Drač is the strengthening of regional cooperation and getting the Western Balkans closer to the European Union. A structural dialogue should be launched in the future period of time among six economies and private sector. (end)
