Chairman of the Council of Minister of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić, who, upon an invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel came to official visit to FR Germany, was welcomed in Berlin with the highest state and military honours. 

Chairman Zvizdić and Chancellor Merkel discussed the improvement of bilateral relations, European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina, berlin Process and Western Balkans regional issues.

After their meeting, Chairman Zvizdić and Chancellor Merkel held a press conference.

Chairman Zvizdić thanked for the invitation and assessed his visit as very important, especially for the fact that Germany is one of the key factors for the new approach to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He expressed his gratitude to Chancellor Merkel for her personal engagement, as well as for that of the FR Germany, in initiating the German-British initiative unblocking the European integrations process, which accelerated the European perspective of BIH and the whole Western Balkans region. He added that the Berlin process managed to launch many activities which have already affected the life in Bosnia and Herzegovina, because our country has got the most of projects in the area of transport infrastructure, certainly due to support from the EU leaders.

He emphasised that the priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina remain the European and NATO road, economic stability, rule of law and security. Chairman Zvizdić repeated that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains strongly committed to establishing good and friendly relations with its neighbours, as one of the important aspects of stabilisation and accession process. He added that all in the Western Balkans region need to find the way together to be continuously progressing on the EU integrations by each of the Western Balkans six.

Chairman Zvizdić said that the bilateral relations with Germany are extremely well, stressing that Germany is our most important partner, and that the foreign exchange between the states shows positive results. Chairman Zvizdić thanked to Chancellor Merkel for sincere welcome.

Chancellor Merkel repeated that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans have clear European prospect and enjoy German support on that road. She added that support to AANTO integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina is unquestionable. She pointed out that Germany supports the economic progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina so that young people could find perspective for stay in BIH. She underlined that the cooperation among the Western Balkans states got improved thanks to the Berlin process, and that the areas of science, education and research are of the great importance for development of the countries. (end)
