Chairman Zvizdić Meets in Washington, D.C. with World Bank Director for South-East Europe Ellen Goldstein

Chairman Zvzidić thanked to the cooperation to date, saying that the World Bank is one of major institutional investors in BIH, and commended its continuous consultancy and technical assistance in different areas.
They discussed the projects being implemented in BIH, and emphasised that the visible progress in the reform processes implementation.
Director Goldstein expressed her optimism over the progress made by BIH last year. She said that it is the first time that BIH delegation holds meetings with the World Bank and IMF officials at a very high level, which is a sign that BIH enters a new dynamic phase making further progressing along the EU road possible.
Discussing the project implementation financed though the World Bank resources, Chaimrna Zvizdić requested Director Goldstein for funds to be received by BIH to be disbursed as per dynamics BIH is ready to implement them. These are infrastructure projects, health system reconstruction, public companies and transport and energy infrastructure strengthening projects. He stressed that stakeholders in BIH are aware that reforms in these sectors have no alternative. He said that efforts should be focused at healing of the whole system so that investments might yield results.
Director Goldstein said the World Bank is ready to follow BIH and realise agreed projects as speedy as convening to BIH, adding that the World Bank stands ready to assist BIH in overcoming its challenges in the future period of time, as well.
The meeting was attended by Tatyana Proskuryakova, Head of the World Bank BIH Office, BIH Ambassador in the USA Haris Hrle, BIH Central Bank Governor Safet Softić, and RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović.
