Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić talked in Sarajevo with President of the Constitutional Court of BIH Mirsad Ćeman, Court Vice-President Zlatko Kežević and Assistant Secretary-General Miro Pekmez on topical isuses relevant for functioning of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a need and possibilities for the Council of Ministers to provide its assistance within its competences. 

A special attention was paid to the issues of implementation of the BIH Constitutional Court awards, in addition to its administrative independence and autonomy, working conditions, working premises and some security aspects.

It was emphasised that addressing key issues, being discussed at the meeting, would contribute to the creation of constitutionality and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Chairman Zvizdić said that the Constitutional Court of BIH is a safeguard of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and as such it is entitled to all possible support in serving its mandate. He said that non-realisation of the Court decisions is a serious problem and ways to address it needs to be found.

The meeting was held within an initiative of the Constitutional Court of BIH directed to the BIH Institutions, which may influence to the creation of better conditions for the Court operations. The aim of such talks is to find effective solutions to concrete issues so that the constitutional position of the Constitutional Court of BIH, defined under Article IV of the Constitution and Court Rulebook, would be fully achieved.
