Chairman Zvizdić Talks with President of Bulgaria

Chairman of the council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić met in Sofia with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, with whom he discussed the promotion of bilateral relations. 

Political relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Bulgaria were assessed as good and without outstanding issues, and an evident mutual interest for deepening cooperation, especially the economic one.

Chairman Zvizdić welcomed new dynamics in the bilateral relations of the two countries, reflected in ever frequent high-level meetings. He informed President Radev of the current internal political developments in BIH, as well as on the foreign policy priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He added that the Council of Ministers remains firmly dedicated to the EU and NATO road of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it actively support regional initiatives and processes contributing to peace-building and stability of the Balkans, in addition to accelerating the Euro-Atlantic integrations of the region.

President Radev said Bulgaria is the first state that recognised Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it continued to support BIH ever since. He congratulated to chairman Zvizdić for handing over answers to the EC Questionnaire, and expressed his hope that during the term of Bulgarian Chairmanship of the EU, Bosnia and Herzegovina will get the response. He commended the reform efforts of the Council of Ministers of BIH, as well as the increase of touristic activities in Bosnia and Hercegovina, the industrial branch that should be supported.

Chairman Zvizdić thanked to the Bulgarian President for recognition of Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying that Bulgaria again, 26 years later, has the key role for BIH.

Also discussed were modalities of introducing a direct air-line Sarajevo – Sofia, launching joint projects and organisation of business for a in order to link entrepreneurs of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Justice of BIH Josip Grubeša, Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Ismir Jusko, and Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Bulgaria Radomir Bogdanović.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić met with president of Foreign Policy Committee of the Bulgarian Parliament Dzhema Grozdanova.
