Chairman Zvizdić Talks with Qatari Prime Minister in Doha

Chairman Zvizdić met today in Doha with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, with whom he talked on the improvement of bilateral relations. The relations between the two countries were assessed as friendly and without outstanding issues, and mutual interest was shown for the advancement of both political and economic cooperation.
They discussed the liberalisation of the visa regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prime Minister Al Thani said that he Qatari side is not against a notion to life visas for diplomatic and official passports, and for Ministers of Interior of both countries meet and arrange a modality of freeing the visa regime for citizens.
Chairman Zvizdić informed Prime Minister Al Thani on the current reform processes in our country, as well as of the European aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said these are compatible processes leading to the fulfilment of two priority aims of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, economic betterment and membership in the European Union. He added that the Council of Ministers is committed to the activation of all available resources for the purpose of a speeded economic development and job creation, especially in the areas of energy, tourism, agriculture, wood processing and metal processing industries, infrastructure construction, as well as strengthening of cultural links through cooperation in sports and education. He welcomed introducing a regular airline Sarajevo-Doha, to facilitate Sarajevo-Doha trips of businessmen and tourists. Chairman Zvizdić invited Prime Minister of the State of Qatar to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH Mirko Šarović, Minister of Foreign Affairs of BIH Igor Crnadak, Minister of Civil Affairs of BIH Adil Osmanović, Minister of Communications and Transport of BIH Ismir Jusko, Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka and Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in het State of Qatar Tarik Sadović.
Following the meeting, and in the presence of the Prime Minister, the following treaties were signed: Memorandum on Youth Cooperation between the Council of Ministers of BIH and Government of the State of Qatar; Memorandum of understanding between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Government of the State of Qatar on Cooperation in Health Care, Medicines Production and Employment of Health Workers; and Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Education, High Education and Scientific-Research Work between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Government of the State of Qatar. The Memoranda were signed by Minister of Civil Affairs of BIH Adil Osmanović, on behalf of the Council of Ministers, while on behalf of the State of Qatar it was signed by Minister of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar Aalah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thni, and Minister of Education and High Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid Al Hammmadi. Simultaneously, the delegations of cities of Sarajevo and Doha signed an Agreement on friendship between the two cities.
