Chairman Zvizdić Visits University Library in Bratislava

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić visited the University Library in Bratislava, holding a collection of Islam manuscript of Bosnian writer Sfvet-bey Bašagić (1870-1934), which is on the UNESCO list of world heritage from 1997. 

The collection includes manuscripts and writings from Islam disciplines, literature in Arabic, Turkish and Persian languages. It cover topics in history, philosophy arts, linguistics, mathematics and astronomy. Among valuable works, there are Janjssaries’ pieces legislation, Vakufnama (gift certificate) for Ferhat-pasha mosque in Banjaluka, and calligraphy diploma from Sarajevo. Safvet-bey Bašagić sold his collection in 1924 to the University Library in Bratislava, and expert restoration of the manuscripts was made in 1964.

Following sightseeing of the collection Chairman Zvizdić signed to the Guest Book.
