Chairman Zvizdić with Chinese Companies

Chairman of the council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić met today in Riga with leaders of Chinese technologic and investment corporations Huawei, Nuctech and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), attending the Business Forum within the Fifth Summit of 16 Prime ministers of the Central and Eastern European Countries with the Prime Minister of China (16+1). 

Chairman Zvizdić informed Directors of the Chinese companies of the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that BIH has made a considerable political and economic progress, which was recognised by its European partners. He stressed that BIH currently expects to receive a questionnaire from the EU and prospective EU candidate status by the end of the next year. He said that all macroeconomic indicators have a positive trend, which came as a result of decisive reform policy, targeting the creation of conducive business environment, FDI attraction and job generation, all in order tioo improve the living standard of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representative of the Chinese companies said they follow-up the developments in Bosnia nd Herzegovina. They emphasised their positive experiences to-date of Chinese companies active in BIH, and showed the interest for investments in Energy, Transport, agriculture, security and waste treatment sectors.

Chairman Zvizdić said Bosnia and Herzegovina has a high quality. Trained labour and access to the EU market, and urged the leaders of the Chinese companies to implement their future projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He thanked to the Nuctech Company for an extremely valuable donation of specialised scanning vehicles for detailed truck checks donated to the Indirect Taxation Administration of BIH, which would fairly strengthen security of BIH borders.

Chairman Zvizdić visited a Huawai exhibition, where he was informed of the latest technological achievements of the company.

The meetings were attended by Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH Mirko Šarović.
