Chairman Zvizdić with FR Germany Delegation

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizidć received today in Sarajevo a delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany, led by Bundestag member and Parliamentarian Secretary of State with the Federal Ministry of Interior Stephan Mayer. The Delegation came to Bosnia and Herzegovina upon a request by Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. 

Chariman Zvizdić briefed members of the Delegation of the current situation and existing aspects of the migrant crisis. He stressed the importance of even placement of migrants throughout Bosnia and Heregovina’s territory, in order to relieve the pressure, primarily in the Unsko-Sanski Canton area, and pointed at a need for strengthening of Eastern border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chairman Zvizdić emphasised the importance of the signing of an ageement with Frontex and to a fact that BIH has no capacities to be a central and collection point for migrants in the Western Balkans.

The meeting was attended by member of Bundestag and former Federal Minister Christian Schmidt, former Federal Minister and ex High Representative of International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schwartz-Schilling, Manager of the Migrations and Refugees Policy Division Britta Behrendt, President of the Tecnisches Hilfswer Albercht Broemme, Dr Christian Konow from Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Office, and Ambassador of the FR Germany in BIH Margaret Uebber.
