Chairman Zvizdić with IMF Delegation
05/17/2016
Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Outstanding issues were discussed as to the continuation of reform processes and BIH financial sector consolidation in the light of conclusion of a new arrangement with the IMF.
Chairman Zvizdić stressed that he views the IMF as a partner institution assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina to properly arrange and consolidate its financial situation. He added that the new IMF arrangement would bring about all-level fiscal stability, in addition to enabling the continuation of launched reform processes, thus accelerating the Euro-Atlantic integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Head of IMF Mission in BIH Ilahi said IMF is satisfied with the reforms progress to date, and that he expects some outstanding issues will be solved soon, like tax payers data exchange between the Entity tax administrations and better coordination of banking sector controls. He emphasised the independence of the Central Bank as a key element for maintenance of stability and liquidity of the financial system.
The IMF Mission will have negotiations next week with representatives of all-level authorities in BIH concerning a possibility of concluding a new arrangement of this financial institution with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
