HEADS OF BIH POLICE AGENCIES APPOINTED 

The Council of Ministers of BIH appointed Zoran Galić for Manager of Bosnia and Herzegovina Border Police, and Zijad Srabović for his Deputy. Mirsad Vilić is appointed Director of Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Uroš Pena and Mile Jurić for his Deputies. Đuro Knežević is appointed Deputy Manager of the State Investigations and Protection Agency (SIPA).

Upon a proposal of the Ministry of Security, the Council of Ministers appointed first ranked candidates from the rank list of the most successful candidates for selection of mangers and deputy managers of police bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, provided to the Ministry of Security by the Independent Parliamentarian Committee.

The Council of Ministers took resolution on discharge form duties of previous managers and deputy managers, whose term has expired. The Council of Ministers Legislative Office is tasked to cooperate with the Ministry of Security in preparation of appointment documents, as well as documents on discharge of the previous managerial staff.

On appointing managers in all police agencies, the Council of Ministers of BIH will take due care of ethnic balance, and all police agencies’ managers are bound by the same principle, enshrined in the BIH Constitution, on appointing lower managerial staff.

 

EUR 4.75 MILLION GRANT TO COMBAT RIVER NERETVA POLLUTION

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined a Proposal IPA EC Grant Agreement worth EUR 4,750,000.00 for the Water Quality Protection: Waste Water Purification Facility in Mostar Project between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The project aims enhancement of local capacities for reduction of the River Neretva pollution from sewage by constructing waste waters purification facility in Mostar.

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury will provide the Proposal Agreement with basics for its conclusion to the BIH Presidency, and Minister Nikola Špirić is proposed as the BIH signatory.

 

BALKAN MEDICAL FORCE TO BE ESTABLISHED

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined Proposal basics for launching negotiations for conclusion of an Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Government of Montenegro, Government of the Republic of Serbia, and Government of the Republic of Slovenia on establishment of a Balkan Medical Force.

The states signatories intend to secure vital capacities in international operations and increase capacities of national health services in order to prepare them for carrying out UN, EU and NATO-led missions. The Ministry of Defence will provide the Proposal with Basics to the BIH Presidency, and Minister Zekerijah Osmić is proposed as the BIH signatory.

 

BIH CoM APPEALS FOR SOLUTION-FINDING FOR VIJEĆNICA

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH appeals to representatives of the National and University Library and Sarajevo city authorities to find solutions as early as possible to contentious issues, i.e. property rights issues, for the needs of registration of entitlement to Vijećnica building in Sarajevo.

The Vijećnica building was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and extensive financial resources, both donor and budgetary, were invested into its reconstruction,

These conclusions were brought by the Council of Ministers following a consideration of a Ministry of Justice’s report on implementation of the Vijećnica building reconstruction project in Sarajevo.

 

FIGHT AGAINST CRIME UNTIL 2016 STRATEGY ADOPTED

 

Upon a proposal of the Ministry of Security Adopted a Strategy for Combating Organised Crime in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014-2016. 

The Strategy defines a policy, which establishes an effective system of fight against organised crime, it specifies goals, roles and responsibilities of all entities involved in tis implementation,  and provides a framework for its implementation action plans. The adoption and implementation of the Strategy for Combating Organised Crime is of utmost relevance for all BIH citizens and it is an important step forward in the EU accession process and clear indication of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s determination to contribute to the largest extent possible to the global fight against organised crime.

In two months’ time from the Strategy adoption, all security agencies in BIH, whose representatives participated in its preparation, will develop their individual implementation action plans. The Strategy preparation involved representatives of the state-level Ministries of Security and Justice, BIH Chief Prosecutor’s Office, State Investigation and Protection Agency, Border Police, Agency for Foreigners’ Affairs, Directorate for Police Bodies Coordination, Intelligence-Security Agency, Indirect Taxation Administration, Entity Prosecutors’ Offices, Ministries of Interior of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BIH and Brčko District of BIH Police.

 

CONSENT FOR CROATIAN CIZTIZENS’ BALLOTING IN BIH

 

Upon a proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers of BIH granted its consent to voting of citizens of the Republic of Croatia in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to be held on May 25 this year for the European Parliament. 

Croatian citizens may vote in 14 polling stations from 7.00 to 19.00 hrs. in Diplomatic-Consular posts of the Republic of Croatia in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

IMMEDIATE SERVICE TO BIH INSTITUTIONS IN BIH PRESIDENCY BUILDING

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH tasked the General Affairs Service of BIH Institutions to provide catering and maintenance services in the BIH Presidency building immediately, on temporary basis, while all Federation-level institutions will leave the BIH Presidency building, following which the Council of Ministers will take a final decision on possibilities for covering service provision by the General Affairs Service.
